Adobo is a Filipino style of cooking chicken or pork.  In this page you will learn how to cook adobo in a sweeter way.  We will not use sugar to sweeten the recipe.  Here are the recipes needed:

1 kg Chicken Thigh  or  1 kg Pork cut in cubes  --
It's your choice if you want to cook chicken or                                                                           pork, or it's also a good idea to mix them.

                                                             1 cup soy sauce

                                                             1/2 cup vinegar

                                               1/2 teaspoon grounded black pepper

5 pcs garlic cloves

1/2 stem of ginger in strips (put ginger if cooking chicken)

4 pcs saba (type of banana) cut in half

Directions:

       1.  Put all the recipes altogether in a pan except for the saba/banana.  Boil for 10 miutes in high fire.

       2.  After 10 minutes, put in low fire and let it stand for 10 minutes (pork) or 5 minutes (chicken) and put in the saba/banana.

       3.  After which, put in high fire and let the oil come out from the pork or chicken, mix thoroughly to avoid burning. Add in 2 tablespoon water then boil for 15 seconds.

       4. You're all set, you can make up to 4 servings.

Food Trivia:  You do not have to add in sugar to make your adobo sweet, the saba makes a sweet flavor for the recipe.  You can also add hard boiled eggs to mix with your adobo.

         Enjoy!
